SECTION 2: STRATEGIES FOR LOCATING RELIABLE HIV/AIDS INFORMATION ON THE WEB

AIDS ACTION

AIDS Action, a national advocacy group that was founded in 1984, is the next featured Web resource. AIDS Action promotes sound HIV/AIDS policies and programs, working to distribute information, enhance prevention programs, and improve care and treatment services.

Click here if you want to open a new browser window to AIDS Action. You can also do a "Bookmark" in Netscape® or add it to your "Favorites" in Internet Explorer® if you want to go back to it later: http://www.aidsaction.org.
You can open a second Web browse screen and follow along "live" or use the screen captures below).

As we demonstrated earlier, the AIDS Action home page is organized into several broad CATEGORIES:

The Web site specializes in public policy and social issues. To this end, it features current news and policy publications, focusing on HIV/AIDS in the United States and worldwide.

Two other unique features, which are shown on the screen below, include "On the Hill" and the "National Policy Agenda" sections. These are valuable tools for Web users who want to keep abreast of legislation and its impact on social issues and their daily lives.
