SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE WEB

NETSCAPE® BASIC FUNCTIONS: MENU DISPLAYS AND THE SIDEBAR

Now we're going to move further down the far left-hand side of the navigation bar and look at the MENU DISPLAY ARROWS and SIDEBAR options:

Notice the MENU DISPLAY UP-ARROWS on the far left-hand side?

You can use these UP-ARROWS to control the display of menu items on the navigator bar. Click on the on the UP-ARROWS to hide menu items.

You'll then notice that the UP-ARROWS become MENU DISPLAY RIGHT-ARROWS, and the corresponding menu item is hidden. If you then want to display these menu items again, click on the RIGHT-ARROW.

The next option is called the SIDEBAR. Notice that it looks something like a file folder?

The SIDEBAR option adds a FRAME to your Netscape® screen.

Click on X to close the SIDEBAR.

On the left-hand side of the FRAME are Netscape® "Customize My Sidebar" options that you can personalize for your own use.
This tutorial does not go into more detail about Netscape® SIDEBAR options, but if you want more information, click here. A new browser screen will open.
