SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE WEB

NETSCAPE®: BASIC FUNCTIONS: THE ADDRESS (URL) BAR


Here's the navigation bar again:


Moving further to the right, you'll see the ADDRESS BAR.
The ADDRESS BAR shows the URL for the site you are currently viewing. ("URL" is usually pronounced like the name "Earl".) You'll notice on the ADDRESS BAR below that we're looking at the http://www.netscape.com site.

If you want to go to a new site, and you know what its URL is, simply type the new URL into the ADDRESS BAR.


Notice the DOWN-ARROWS on the far left-hand and right-hand sides of the ADDRESS BAR? Here's what they do:
