INTERNET EXPLORER® BASIC FUNCTIONS: FAVORITES

The next Internet Explorer® navigation option we will discuss is the FAVORITES feature.

The FAVORITES feature allows you to store Web sites that you want to go back to later. The feature organizes stored sites (URLs) in folders. FAVORITES is a convenient and easy way to create your own collections of the Web sites that you find yourself using frequently.

For example, let's say that you have found a Web site that you want to go to time and time again. Instead of writing down the URL, or trying to memorize the URL, add it to your list of FAVORITES. Then, when you want to go back to that site, you can simply go to your FAVORITES and select the URL from the list or folder. If the Web site is a news source like USA Today, you might want to create a "news" folder. Or, if the Web site contains information about the latest AIDS drugs, you might want to create another new folder, giving it a name that reflects its contents.

To add a Web site URLto your favorites, follow these instructions:

1. Click on FAVORITES.

2. Click on the ADD TO FAVORITES option.

To view or go to or retrieve a favorite Web site URL, follow these instructions:

1. Click on FAVORITES.

2. Make your selection from the list or from a folder.

To add a folder, remove Web site URLs, change the name of a favorite URL, etc., use the ORGANIZE FAVORITES option:
