EVIDENCE BASED MEDICINE REVIEWS DATABASES

The Evidence Based Medicine Reviews databases (EBMR) represent a quick and easy way to find literature that meets strict criteria for providing the best clinical evidence available -- usually RCTs or articles that have been reviewed by premier resources in evidence-based practice, including the Cochrane DSR, ACP Journal Club, and the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE)?.

The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews contains reviews of current medical research. The Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization, surveys the medical literature for sound research, then synthesizes and reports on these studies in the Cochrane Database.

The ACP Journal Club regularly screens top clinical journals, identifying clinically relevant studies. Following the literature survey, an enhanced abstract of a chosen study is sritten and a detailed commentary appraising the value of the article for clinical practice is prepared.

Dare provides critical assesments of systematic reviews presented in the form of structured abstracts.
