Instructions to set up VH Dissector
Instructions to set up VH Dissector on a Windows Operating System Computer
- Right mouse click on the Windows desktop
- On the pop-up menu select New followed by Shortcut
- In the "Create Shortcut" dialog box type \\aml-server\vh_dissector\VH Dissector Pro.exe
- Click Next
- In the "Select a title for the program" edit to read VH Dissector Pro
Currently the resource is not designed for remote access from outside the BUMC campus.
Instructions to set up VH Dissector on a Macintosh Computer (Except Snow Leopard OS, see #6)
- On the menu bar click on Go
- In the "Connect to server" dialog box select Connect to Server
- Enter smb://155.41.134.236 (this line is case sensitive)
- Click Connect
- In the SMB/CIFS File System Administration" dialog box type VHPro in the "Name" box.
- Click OK
- In the dialog box for selecting a "Shared Volume" click on the drop down arrow and select vh_dissector_mac
- Click OK
- While in the VH_DISSECTOR_MAC popup window simultaneously hold down the Option+Apple keys and drag the VH Dissector Icon to the desktop
- For Snow Leopard, same as above except:
- Under System Preferences-- Networking -- Advanced, click on the WINS TAB
- Enter 155.41.201.60 for the WINS Server
- Replace 155.41.134.236 with AML-server
- Continue as directed above
