Connecting to the BU Campus Network

Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) students, faculty, staff, residents, and other users who have a BU login name and Kerberos password can access licensed online resources from home or other off-campus locations through a new authentication service called EZproxy. These resources include electronic journals, textbooks, electronic indexes, and other Web-based tools. Users no longer need the VPN (though still required for wireless access) or Proxy Server to access our resources.

Wireless Access to the BU Campus Network
Wireless Access to the BU Campus Network

Wireless Internet connections are available in the Alumni Medical Library and throughout the campus. Connecting to the BUMC Wireless Network requires the Cisco Virtual Private Networking (VPN) Client and a BU ACS (Kerberos) account.

In order to authenticate, you must download and install the Cisco client for Virtual Private Networking (VPN). You will be prompted to download and install the VPN client the first time you access the BUMC Wireless Network. You can download the VPN client or get additional information from http://www.bumc.bu.edu/Dept/Content.aspx?PageID=8474&departmentid=278.

You must start the VPN Client each time you access the BUMC Wireless Network.
